A little about the man behind the app
I’ve been following newspaper crosswords for around 50 years, and decided early on that the Daily Telegraph’s were the ones for me! Pretty much tackled all of them since then, and later, I started with their first EV and have been fortunate enough to win it 5 times… although these days I am happy enough to tackle them without sending in an entry.
Fairly useless at school, but I am eternally grateful to Harold Wilson for the inspiration of the Open University that gave me the best of education – and that has shown me how to think widely, deeply and independently.
A minor success with a single appearance on Countdown, but my wife reached the final in December 1997, losing with her word from Chambers that was not allowed by the OED! (HAMPSTER)
I thoroughly recommend bigdave44.com for all DT puzzles stuff – when you’re unsure you’ll get the kick in the pants / spark in the brain / whisky in the blood… that’ll fire you on your way. And reading other people’s comments is always a delight!
Good solving!
